Collagen Induction Therapy, most commonly known as Microneedling, is a technique that, literally, activates your body’s ability to heal itself in order to reverse the visible manifestation of aging and damage to your skin. Using a medical grade electric operated device to stimulate the skins own natural ability to increase the production of collagen and elastin to alleviate the appearance of acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles. This natural process repairs the texture and tautness of the skin to help restore lost volume while reducing the size of pores.

Though Microneedling is most often used for the face and neck, many patients successfully receive this treatment on other body areas such as stomach and thighs for stretch marks as well as skin tightening.

Microneedling can also help patients who suffer from hair loss. The thousands of micro-channels, created by this therapy in the scalp, stimulate increased circulation and hair growth related hormones that trigger hair production. Coupled with other hair growth related therapies offered here, the probability of re-growing your own natural hair is greatly increased.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment with minimal downtime. It is an effective treatment for individuals of all skin types and colors, and safe for anywhere the signs of aging have become apparent.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is the rapid insertion of very short fine needles into the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation. A medical grade hand held device is used to create small wounds, stimulating the skin to respond with collagen production and new skin cells. At the tip of this device is a disposable head that holds 12 extra-fine sterile needles that puncture the epidermis of the skin at varying specific depths creating micro-channels as the device glides across the skin. These micro-channels stimulate the body’s natural reaction to heal the area. Depending on the depth of the needle penetration, this can offer skin rejuvenation levels from the simple enhancement of facial product absorption, up to 3000%, to the clinical treatment of scars and wrinkles.

Both the Nano and Microneedling treatments use a pen-like medical device that oscillates a tip up and down to stimulate a skin reaction. They both induce cell turnover, serum infusion and provoke the healing process that results in skin transformation.

Nanoneedling, though, works a little differently. Its does use the same type of oscillating motion to treat the skin, but the disposable cartridge at the tip encompasses 81 silicone tips instead of needles. These microscopic hair-like cones separate the cells within the epidermis to allow active products to be pushed into the skin. Nanoneedling only affects the epidermis, treating with the upper 0.15mm of the skin. The benefits of this serum infusion treatment include pigmentation reduction, increased cell turnover, skin rejuvenation and an immediate glow without any downtime. It is commonly used during a regular Microneedling treatment when addressing more sensitive areas of the face, such as beneath the eyes or on the lips, or for senior patients who’s skin is more delicate. This treatment can be done weekly to exfoliate the skin and it allows for up to 97% of facial product absorption during treatment.

Always know that all our Microneedling is done with a top of the line premium class 2 medical device that oscillates, rather than simply vibrate like other lesser quality equipment available on the market. And that all our Microneedling equipment tips are gas sterilized, single use only. We use some of the thinnest stainless steel needles on the market.

Also be aware that, because this is a class 2 medical device, only a properly trained medical professional, such as a nurse or doctor, is legally permitted to perform this treatment. It is considered a medical procedure and, currently, in the state of California only those specific professionals can perform this procedure. Estheticians and other cosmeticians are not legally permitted to do this.
